Black Queer Joy is Revolutionary
Check out footage of our first Black Queer Joy Activation: Soulful Whimsy!
Many of us walk through the world waiting for the other shoe to drop. We are fed stories of our pain. This is particularly true for Black, POC, and Queer people. We are gathering images and stories from around the world that shine a light on our joy with the intention of shifting the anchor of our being from our sorrow to a blossoming of joy and ease.
We NEED to explore our trauma to heal AND...Standing FOR our Joy is a Revolution. We are a stand for unapologetic joy.

“Being joyful and being seen as joyful and living happy lives by itself is a revolution. For hundreds of years, cultural oppression and systemic racism has perpetuated the idea that Black joy cannot be long-lasting. If we don’t see images, how can we build up a tolerance for joy?"
